PROGRAMA 4 DIAS – 3 NOCHES
02.- SAB.- Loros y Reserva Biológica de Limoncocha.- Temprano nos trasladamos en canoa a motor para visitar un rincón especial de la selva, unas lomas que tienen barrancos de arcilla sitio predilecto para que diferentes especies de loros coman esta tipo de tierra para poder digerir sus alimentos, es espectacular, luego visitaremos un segundo "Lamedero" para luego volver al Manatee que zarpara de inmediato aguas arriba para alcanzar unos de los tributarios del Napo y observar allí fauna y flora, los sorprendentes "bebe leche" o monos pigmeos, para luego caminar por lo que fue uno de los centros lingüísticos de Sudamérica Limoncocha, hoy la única reserva biológica del Ecuador, al llegar a Limoncocha nos embarcamos a un bote y recorremos las orillas de este ecosistema inundable en donde se han visto mas de 470 especies de aves, luego de una pesca de pirañas, tendremos una corta caminata y luego al caer la noche, con poderosas linternas podemos observar también a los caimanes negros antiguos dueños de Limoncocha, es una gran experiencia; luego regresamos a bordo para una cena mas tarde.
03.- DOM.- CULTURA / EL HOMBRE AMAZONICO / GIGANTES DEL BOSQUE.- Hoy empezamos visitando el Museo de Pompeya ,una pequeña muestra arqueológica Amazónica con urnas funerarias que datan de algunos siglos atrás, así como utensilios y formas de vida de los antiguos pobladores del Amazonas que hoy se replican en los actuales, también podremos admirar los gigantes del amazonas, los ceibos de mas de ochenta metros de altura y de enormes raíces. también podremos aprender a remar y conducir las canoas por un tranquilo brazo del Napo como visitar una real casa indígena y compartir sus forma de vida.
04.- LUN.- COCA / QUITO.- Regreso a casa Mientras el Manatee sigue navegando contra la corriente río arriba nuestros guías nos dan sus últimos conocimientos acerca del gran Amazonas, para luego ser trasladados al aeropuerto y regresar a Quito. Nota Todas las noches tenemos actividades adicionales, como conferencias, revisión de fauna y flora y excursiones nocturnas.
PROGRAMA 5 DIAS – 4 NOCHES
02.- MAR.- Corredor biológico Pañacocha.- La exploración continuará hacia el río Pañayacu, desde este lugar se continuará en canoa para observación de flora y fauna, lagunas cercanas, etc. Es posible practicar pesca deportiva de pirañas y con suerte se puede ver delfines rosados de agua dulce. El Lago Piraña (Pañacocha) es un ecosistema inundado de aguas claras y el hábitat perfecto para la famosa piraña, razón de su nombre, peces Arawana y caimanes blancos. En la noche habrá una excursión opcional en la selva y en los flancos de los ríos. Nota: Se ofrece la opción de pasar esta noche en el campamento nativo bajo el cielo estrellado y con la increíble orquestación de los sonidos de la selva y una acogedora fogata, bajo pedido previo (DAC).
03.- mie.- torre de observación y comunidad indígena Kichwa.- Al tercer día de crucero se realizará la visita a la torre de observación, construida alrededor de un árbol desde el cual, se puede tener una mejor visualización de los diferentes ecosistemas y amplia variedad de aves alrededor. Después del almuerzo en Manatee, se hará una visita a una casa nativa de la comunidad Kichwas, el guía nativo explicara lo relacionado a su forma de vida, costumbres ancestrales, tradiciones y relación con su ambiente. (DAC)
04.-JUE.- Kapok y reserva biológica Limoncocha.- En la mañana se visitará el famoso lamedero de loros, un lugar pintoresco lleno de estas aves en ritual de alimentación. Se visitará también una de las áreas con los árboles mas altos que se puede encontrar en el bosque lluvioso (rainforest), el Kapok, el guía nativo explicará sobre el uso de las plantas medicinales. Si el tiempo permite se hará una visita al museo arqueológico CICAME el cual preserva información de la cultura Omagua, una de las primeras comunidades que habitaron la cuenca del río Napo, este es además un buen lugar para conseguir artesanías locales elaboradas por sus habitantes con materiales de bosque. En la tarde seviitará la reserva biológica Limoncocha, lugar excepcional para observación de aves, monos, etc. En la noche se harán recorridos por canoa en búsqueda del caimán negro visible en las noches. (DAC).
05.- VIE.- COCA - QUITO.- Después del desayuno, retorno al Coca para tomar el vuelo de regreso a Quito, el tiempo estimado de recorrido es de 2 horas aproximadamente. (D).
PROGRAMA 8 DIAS - 7 NOCHES
the Ecuadorian Amazon basin will begin (night walk or canoe ride will depend on the river level, climatic conditions, wildlife behavior and accessibility to a location).
Day 2. Visiting the Yasuní National Park. On the second day of our cruise, we will explore one of the fantastic tributaries of the Napo River that comes from the core of the Yasuní National Park. At this river, we will navigate upstream in search of the evasive Giant River Otter, the mysterious Jaguar and the timid Spider Monkey. After our return from the excursion, the manatee will continue its navigation to arrive near the international boundary with Peru. At night, there will be an excursion into the Yasuní N.P. to look for large rodents like Capybaras and reptiles of the night like Caimans (South American alligators). We may stay camping overnight to enjoy the jungle at night.
Day 3. Peruvian Border & Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. After a morning excursion to observe plants, birds and more wildlife in the Yasuní N.P. The Manatee will navigate into the Aguarico River, the largest tributary of the Napo River to get through the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, one of the highlights of our exploration. On our way to Cuyabeno, we will visit a Peruvian town and meet local people.
Day 4. Cuyabeno W. R. – The Forest Dwellers. A full day visit to the Indian Community will give as an idea of how indigenous people live in the forest. At the community, a local guide accompanied by our expedition leaders will enlighten you with the use of plants for medicinal use and other purposes. After a walk, you will stop at a local house where these true forest dwellers will bring into the light their way of life and traditions. This will be an opportunity to buy handicrafts made by the local people. There will be plenty of traditional food and hospitality.
Day 5. Cuyabeno W. R. –Lagartococha. This remote area is accessible to you only through the Lagarto (Alligator) River, a black water river surrounded by freshwater mangroves (Coussapoa trinervia), Macrolobium trees, and Palm trees adapted to flooding conditions. Lagartococha (Alligator Lake) is not one but a system of lakes situated along the Ecuadorian-Peruvian boundary. This black water system is the home of the legendary Pink River Dolphins, River Turtles, Black Caimans and the enigmatic Amazon Manatee. Moreover, if we look at the vegetation on the shores, we may well see Red Howler Monkeys, Three-toed Sloth, the leaf-eating bird locally known as Stinky Turkey (Hoatzin) and other wildlife. The canoe trip upstream will reveal the overwhelming beauty of this aquatic region. An overnight in the forest could be arranged for this day.
Day 6. Navigation and exploration along the Napo River. From this day, we will start our return to the point where we boarded the Manatee Amazon Explorer for the first time. There will be navigation throughout the entire day to relax and observe the Napo River banks, the forest and perhaps some wildlife. Late in the afternoon, after a relaxed morning, we will explore the Napo River banks and tropical river islands in quest of birds like the ornamented Umbrella Bird, the colorful Blue-Gray Tanagers, Kingbirds, Social Flycatchers and many more.
Day 7. Navigation along the Napo River – Pañacocha. (Piranha Lake) Protected Forest We will continue our navigation upstream to arrive at the mouth of the Pañayacu (Piranha River). After arrival, there will be a canoe trip through the Piranha River to see the sights of this interesting protected forest. There is a possibility to observe Pink River Dolphins, the agile Common Squirrel Monkeys and much more. The Piranha Lake area, contrary to Lagartococha, is an ecosystem flooded by white waters. The rivers and lakes of that place are perfect habitat for the infamous Piranha, the Water Monkey Fish (Arawana) and White Caimans. At night, there will be an optional excursion to explore the forest and river banks. explore the forest and river banks.
Day 8. Yasuní N. P. – CICAME museum and return home. The Manatee Amazon Explore will arrive to the point were we started our adventure. Early morning, we will visit the most accessible Parrot and Parakeet clay licks in Ecuador. There are blinds or hides to watch and enjoy this nature show so close! It is difficult to imagine hundreds, sometimes thousands of parrots and parakeets coming all together at once into the clay licks. This area is also located inside of the Yasuní N.P. Early afternoon visit the CICAME Archeological Museum that preserves pottery from the Omagua Culture, one of the first forest pre-Columbian residents of the Napo River basin. After the visit continue to the city of Coca to take the flight back to Quito.

01.- LUN.- QUITO - COCA -
PARQUE NACIONAL YASUNI.- Salida desde Quito hacia Coca, traslado al
muelle para embarcar al Manatee, una vez a bordo se continuará sobre el Río
Napo aguas abajo, durante el viaje se proveerá de información importante
respecto de la región de visita. Por la noche la primera experiencia será en
canoa (dependiendo de las favorables condiciones climáticas) o una caminata
nocturna en la selva. Retorno a bordo, cena y coctel de bienvenida (AC).
